Wednesday morning we took off and headed to the train station in Oslo, Norway. We then got off at a stop in Myrdal, Norway. From there our beautiful tour of the Fjords began. We took a train through the mountains, and along the coast. It was beautiful in the winter, and I can only imagine how it would be with all the trees green in the summer, it must be breathtaking. Our train took us to Flam, Norway. There we had about an hour and half stop so we grabbed a quick lunch before getting on the boat at 1510. We had a 10 minute ride to our stop for the night.

Well, that 10 minute ride turned out to be about a 2 hour ride. Kyle and I kept thinking the boat was going to stop at any one of the villages it was giving the history about as we knew we were suppose to be getting off and continuing the boat ride in the morning. About 45 minutes into the ride we went and ask what was happening and if we got on the wrong boat. Turns out we were on the correct boat, but they did not notice when checking our tickets that they needed to stop. So because most of the villages had no road access or way for us to return to our hotel we had to continue on the 2 hour boat ride. The good news was that even though it took the boat 2 hours, it only took the bus 30 minutes to return us to our hotel. We got there after 1900, but we were given a huge room and taken great care of.
(In Flam--ready to board the boat, can you sense his excitement!)
In the morning we slept in because we knew the boat would not be there until 1525. Gunnar slept horribly, so I was thankful for the chance to hand him off to Kyle in the morning and get some sleep. Kyle even went and brought me my breakfast in bed. We went and asked what there was to see, and the hotel guy told us that the city was tiny and not really a lot, especially in the off-season. He let us leave our bags with him, so we could walk around and check things out. We enjoyed awesome bacon burgers (Norwegians love their bacon, which makes me happy. Every place we went had so much American food, it was great). After eating we were frozen so we went back to the hotel to hang out.

We got on the boat and they were happy to see us again, they got a good laugh out of us and missing our stop. Haha, I wasn't laughing, I had a screaming baby, but I must say they did thier best to take care of us, plus we got to see the Fjords twice!

From the boat we took about an hour bus ride, then back on the train for an hour to arrive in Bergen, Norway. We got there at about 2030 so walked straight to our hotel and went to bed. The next morning we basically just walked to the bus stop to go to the airport as Gunnar was not feeling well.
(Bergen, Norway--Pretty much the only picture that turned out from Bergen. It was a beautiful place!)
We had a great time, however, Gunnar was not feeling well, so instead of heading to London, we came home. We were suppose to be in England until Tuesday. While Norway was beautiful I did not enjoy it as much as I would have liked due to Gunnar getting sick. We didn't get to explore much as being out in the cold would not have been good for Gunnar, plus I wasn't getting much sleep because he was waking up in pain every hour or so. I am hoping he is just teething, but I think he has a cold too. We are just praying that he gets better soon and his fever stays down so we don't have to go to the hospital. We also are thankful that it worked out for us to get home so smoothly. Who knew having a 3 hour layover 2 hours from our house could be a great thing.
