I am feeling like suddenly Gunnar is really growing up. I know it seems strange to say that at six months, but over the time frame of 3 days he has started doing some BIG things!
1) Crawling....even if its low crawling
2) Sitting up on his own
3) Sucking his thumb
Two of the three are what I will call "BIG BOY" things, and the other is NOT! Gunnar sucking his thumb bothers Kyle way more than me. I think because I would come home telling horror stories about one of my students who would not stop sucking his thumb at 6 years old. I guess Kyle listens more than I think sometimes, because he reminds me that we don't want "Buck Tooth Gunnar." He likes to say that to me because I said I thought it was kind of cute. :)
Here is a picture of Kyle, Gunnar, & Suesse hanging out.
So in this photo Gunnar was suppose to be holding my certificate for me. Instead he thought it tasted good. Last deployment Kyle’s Squadron FRG did an “I Ran to Afghanistan” challenge during the 15 months they were gone. I participated and received my certificate and t-shirt TODAY. It came just in time for the next deployment and running to Afghanistan all over again. (Please know you don’t actually have to run, you can walk, bike, or swim to collect the miles as well.) This is what my certificate says, you should be so proud of me ,haha!
“To all who shall see these presents, greetings. Be it known that Beth Pettit is hereby awarded the “I Ran To Afghanistan” scroll of completion for having displayed the tenacity, grit, determination, and “Esprit De Corps” required to complete the journey of 3168 miles from Germany to Afghanistan ordered this 2nd day of December 2008”

Wow, my babes aren't doing any of those things. Except for the thumb sicking. But Lincoln has been doing that for about 4 months now. Such a pro! I never sucked my thumb but I had major buck teeth (thank heavens for braces) so I think my kids are in for it either way.
Oh by the way, you would run away in terror if you saw the pile of clothes sitiing on my floor. That is how I find time to sew. In my defence, Ed dumped a basket of folded cothes into my already growing pile, so it wasn't all my fault. hehe.
Just thought I'd let you know how much we are enjoying to picturers of everyone. By the way I don't think Gunnar is sucking his tumb! He is in deep thought! I have you and Gunnar on my backdrop today so I will be thinking about you alot! I am very proud of the fact that you "Ran to Afgh." Dad & I think we should try! LOL!!!!! Love ya all and miss ya a lot
