We have survived the first week of the 2018-2019 school year. Gunnar is now a 4th grader, Ryker a 3rd grader, Maverick a 1st grader, and Nora will be in preschool starting next week. In the meantime, Kyle is substitute bus driving for the district so she rides with him. This week has been an adjustment from our summer schedule. Everyone in the house has to be up by 5:30am, and Kyle and the kids head out the door at 6am, then I leave shortly after, we all get home around 4pm. The kids are on the bus a long time. Hopefully they find someone to take the route full-time soon.
I am currently in my second year of teaching kindergarten at Priest River Elementary. After 4 years of teaching preschool up here at the lake, I decided it was time I actually got paid like a teacher. I miss my job up here, and I miss seeing my kids, but do enjoy the challenge the full-time position brings.
Kyle finished up his CDL last year and is putting it to use as they needed someone to do the high school route from Priest Lake down to Priest River. He loves it in the morning, but says things aren't as smooth on the way home.
Some pictures from the first day.
