Wild Animal Park

Today our friends, Regina, Dani, and Sina came over for a visit. Since the weather was actually nice today we ventured out. After feeding Ryker, Gunnar and I headed out with the 3 girls for a short visit to the animal park. I figured we had about 2-3 hours before needing to be back at the house to rescue Kyle from a hungry Ryker (and it ended up being perfect timing when we got home).
The animal park is free, so it was something to do rather than sit around the house or have Sina and Gunnar play here. I forgot the stroller for Gunnar (see post below about how I am a slacker mom now) which made it not as much fun for me since Gunnar finds is necessary to pick rocks up every five feet of walking and his little legs would just get tired. But, overall it was a pretty good time. Nothing to exciting is at the park, but Gunnar got to practice his new favorite word "WOW!" every 5 seconds...he did a lot of pointing and "wowing" at nothing, but he was having fun, so I suppose that is all that matters. Sina brought her own money to buy Gunnar an ice cream and kept Gunnar from ever being hungry with pastries. He really was spoiled. I felt bad having to say it was time to leave as I know Sina really wanted to play on the cool playgrounds they have there, but I knew that Ryker could be getting hungry and I can't let my poor baby starve.
Gunnar did a lot of running and a lot of sitting....
We decided that Sina thinks of Gunnar like her personal doll that runs, jabbers, and plays with her...they have a great time together.
We got home, and Kyle said Ryker just started showing signs of being hungry so our timing could not have been more perfect. After feeding Ryker I started making pizzas just in time for our friend Elizabeth to arrive. She has been in the states and hasn't had a chance to meet little Ryker yet, so she joined us for pizza night and some Ryker cuddle time. Ryker was enjoying her shoulder and was so wide awake, but of course as soon as I snapped a picture he curled himself up into a little ball...but is still cute. (I didn't ask for permission to put Elizabeth's picture on the blog, oops.)
I am so thankful for my friends, especially, girlfriends here in Schweinfurt. Since being married to Kyle, most of our friends (or at least people who we hang out with) have been male, and I don't spend much time around girls....but I have been fortunate and blessed to have some great GIRL friends here in Schweinfurt. They are such great friends that they not only tolerate me, but Kyle, and our kiddos too!!!

Wow Beth! I totally understand your life with two little boys. Rett and Wenn are 19 months apart and are always full of energy. Your mom is right, you are not a slacker, just a normal mom. Trust me I know. I wish I could be there to give you support and encouragement. Hang in there! It looks like you are doing great. If you don't remember who I am. It is your cousin Erin from California. Uncle Bud and Aunt Rosie gave me your blog sight. How awesome! Thinking and praying for you.
