2 well-baby checkups

I have decided that I am a bit of a slacker now that I am a mommy of 2. I slack at taking pictures, I slack at blogging, and well, you will see (not just here, but in the future)....

Today both boys had their Well-Baby Check-Ups. Gunnar for his 15-18month check (apparently they just combine it all into one here), and Ryker for his 2 week check-up.
I am not really sure what I was thinking, but they scheduled the appointments together, and I thought it sounded like a good idea...let's just be thankful Kyle was there to help!

Gunnar was first up! He weighs a whooping 21.9 lbs, which would put him in the 6th percentile for his age (16 months). I have no idea how tall, or how big his noggin is because like I said...slacker mom!
Ryker was up next. He weighs 7.4lbs which puts his a little over his birth weight and in the 20th percentile for his age (11 days). I don't know about his height or head size either (yep I really an a slacker).
Both were taken into the examination room where thankfully I had a ziploc full of cheerios which kept Gunnar occupied while Ryker was checked out. Then Kyle took Ryker to make another appointment but quickly came back because Ryker wouldn't stop crying...
The claim that both Gunnar and Ryker are healthy kiddos, they actually went as far as saying we were doing a good job as parents (if they only knew)! They both have little snotty noses right now, but were told as long as they don't have a fever there is really nothing to worry about.
After their check-up we got to go to immunizations. Ryker went first and got a vitamin shot, which he hated. Gunnar went next and got his last shot that he will need until the age of 4! He was such a trooper. He gave crying a serious thought, but luckily decided it wasn't worth the effort. He got a sucker and was his happy-go-lucky self.
We then had to go to the lab to get Ryker's heel pricked. Oh my...this is just pure baby torture. It is a slow process and Ryker was not happy about it. He screamed for what I am sure was an hour (including during and after the procedure). I felt like a pretty horrible mom and nominate Kyle to be the one who goes through any future torture with him, but I am almost certain that I didn't feel as bad as the lab tech who put Ryker through all the pain. She had to come out and check on him because even well after it was over he was still VERY angry with the world.
I have to laugh about the craziness of all this as throughout the 2 1/2 hours we were at the clinic and the various places we were waiting we either got lots of compliments on how well-behaved Gunnar was, or we got the eye-balls like we were the crazy parents with two loud, obnoxious screaming kiddos!
So...no pictures today, but since we have established that I am now a slacker you should be understanding....
