Whew, what a crazy week. I can't believe it has been over a week since I last posted. I have been getting emails and phone calls from a grandma demanding more pictures, but you will have to wait...the cord to the camera is MIA.
I will give you a quick low-down of the past week, as a lot has happened.
1) Kyle got back from the field Friday afternoon, then got stuck on CQ (24 hour duty), he got home Saturday at 9am.
2) Tim and Sarah arrived Saturday morning at 9:30am visited until Tuesday. They only planned on staying until Monday, but Tim's grandma was driving him a little bonkers and we were enjoying the company, so invited them to stay another day. Sarah is perfect for Tim and we were glad we got to meet her. We had a great time just hanging out here at the house. We had Raclette night with a fun game of Apples to Apples after eating. Plus Junior came over for dinner + games and made cookies so that was awesome.
3)I officially quit my job. I have known I want to quit for awhile, but going in and actaully muttering those words out of my mouth were pretty hard. My principal was out of town, so I had some time to really weigh my options. I know this is the right choice and I am excited to stay home. We figure between Gunnar, my master's, and Kyle's deployment I will have enough stress, no need to add a kindergarten class to the mix. I guess its not totally official, on Monday I go and sign the paperwork.
4) Kyle had his interview with a Warrant Officer on Wednesday for his letter of recommendation. He really helped Kyle get everything ready to turn in and is writing the letter, so it was a successful trip. He did warn Kyle that getting into Warrant Officer right now is very difficult, especially without being an NCO, but he will highly recommend Kyle for selection.
5) Thursday Gunnar moved out of our room from the bassinet into his own room in the crib. It was a very sad night for me...it was hard not having him an arms length away. The good news is, I survived, barely (Kyle had to hold me down, Gunnar wasn't crying, I just missed him). He did get to come to bed with me with Kyle left for PT for some cuddling. He is sleeping about 7 hours straight (then wakes to eat, then back to sleep for 3 hours) on good nights, hopefully good nights continue and become more frequent.
Kyle has a 4 day weekend. Friday consists of major house cleaning (who knew this was so difficult with Gunnar around). Saturday we are headed to the Black Forest for a day trip with our friend Junior. Saturday night one of Kyle's friends has invited us over, we will see if we make it. Sunday hopefully we make it to church! We have been gone or sick almost every Sunday this summer. Monday, who knows, maybe another day trip adventure.
Hopefully tomorrow in the cleaning extravaganza we will find the camera cord so I can post some pictures!
