Really I think I should start each day by reading Matthew 6:25-34. "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
If
that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and
tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you,
O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
These verses really put worrying into perspective!
So instead of all the things in life that I don't understand or feel completely terrified about, I am going to work on trusting God completely.
While I work on trusting God, I am going to focus on the many blessings in my life, one of them, my family!
Ryker loves getting into my cupboards. While I'm cooking he is usually pulling pots and pans out, sitting in the pots, or climbing into the cupboard.
While Ryker plays, Gunnar is my cooking assistant. He HAS to help. He is usually a good little helper. (So Gunnar has recently acquired what he calls his "funny face" and any time I say "smile," he says "funny face" and gives me a look like this or something else funny...its annoying, and I hope its just a little phase in the terrible twos.)
Last night Kyle went to bed at 6:30. Ryker was tired too, so instead of putting him in his own bed he decided they needed some snuggling time. They stayed like this until 10 when I put Ryker in his own bed. Thankfully Ryker slept until his usual 7am...I was expecting him to get up much earlier, going to bed and hour early.
Unfortunately for me, Gunnar wasn't tired, so he was mine for the hour before he went to bed. We had fun playing games and he also enjoyed his solo bath...which hasn't happened in probably 9 months or so.
Today we had a lot of fun just playing.
Here's that funny face again.
The boys and I built a blanket fort in the living room. They loved it and insisted I sit inside with them. They loved playing with their headlamps and flashlights in the fort. It was a fun evening!
Ryker and his headlamp!
I am so blessed.
