Meal times have become a battle around here lately. Gunnar will refuse to eat, hit the food away, or just sit in his chair and cry. It is so frustrating for us. I believe Kyle said that they sat at the table this morning for breakfast for over an hour. Lunch time Gunnar just screamed at me, and this was at dinner. He ate a good dinner with no problems. He is so unpredictable when it comes to meal time, some days he eats like a champ and other days he doesn't. He does prefer to feed himself and this is a very time consuming process, I cant imagine how frustrated I would be if it took me that long to get food on a fork! He really is working hard for his food. It does not always take him this long to get the food on the utensils, and if he can not get it he usually gives up and just uses his hands to eat with, but not tonight, he had to use those utensils. We do help him out and I usually feed him bites while he is busy working at getting food on his fork. If we made him eat like this all the time I think I would just sit in my chair and cry too.
(I have been on a blogging frenzy lately, so don't miss out on any of the other posts.)

Okay your frustration has been Max's first 2 years! He wouldn't eat anything and it was a lot of tears (from both of us), food on the floor and lots of FRUSTRATION! So I finally just said whatever. I offered my Max food and if he didn't want to eat we would just leave it there until he got hungry. I felt like he was going to starve but when he got hungry he would go to the table and eat. Finally after 2 years he is eating at meal time. Don't give up. I feel your pain though! Good luck!
Ok my cousin Cathy for sometime would only eat hot dogs. Aunt Ruthie was really worried about her. Her ped. doc said not to worry he didn't know a kid would starve themselves to death! He really does look like he thinks he shouldn't eat it unless it is on the fork!
this is so cute! =) He makes me laugh .. I give you credit, I don't think getting a little one to eat would be easy! Good luck!! =)
