We have gone 2 days without a binki (aka pacifier, nuk, or whatever clever name you use). It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. We went cold turkey and Gunnar doesn't even get one at nap or bedtime.
Nap time is by far the hardest. He will go to sleep after a few minutes of yelling his lungs out and then sleep for a little bit, wakes up, at this point before he would just put his binki back in and go back to sleep, but now he just screams!Bedtime is much different. Last night he made it all night, with just about a minute of screaming before going to sleep...tonight, he again let me know for about a minute that he was not happy then went to sleep, and I am hoping he can sleep through again tonight without it.
Next we have to work on weaning in from the bottle. He is down to only 2 bottles, one before his afternoon nap, and one before bedtime. But I will give him a week or two after his binki is no longer missed to ditch the bottle. I would like him completely weaned from the bottle before his little brother joins the family, which seems to be creeping up really quickly.
Then, one day when I am ready we will really potty train the kid. Kyle would like it done now, but that takes to much effort on my part, and since he isn't telling us he has to potty it could make it a bit more difficult. He does know how to go on the potty and enjoys it, but I think it is more of a game right now.
Oh my, babies grow up way to fast...

By the time your brother was finished with his pacifiers your Dad and I were calling them DT's . . . for discussting thing. Hopefully next baby will be like you and your sister - no DT's and no bottles! Hope things went well today!
